Thanks guys for the show of interest..it's been 6 weeks..they have not even started anything at all..

My bike sits here..between a crashed RT and a dropped 999 Ducati...I took these pics today.

Image

I took it to the dealer the day after the drop..it was assessed by the insurance company within a couple of days and was given the OK to proceed with repairs.

I've been in the middle of..my dealer saying they haven't received the OK in writing..and my insurance co saying they have given it in writing.

It's been all sorted out now...and I hope things start to happen now...and about time.

I wonder if I was riding a new R1200R would the tank be worn through without the Oil cooler cowls to protect it..

Image

This pic shows how useless those plastic guards are for anything more than a gentle tip over..why don't BMW offer more serious guards..

Image

It's not all bad news.. 8) ..my insurance money has come through for replacement of my gear...waa-hoo.. :D

Here's my new gear..just picked up today..I chose a Spyke leather jacket..and a new BMW system five flip helmet.

Image

Once you've used a flip..you can never go back..and the BMW's are the best..IMO..

Image

I've ordered some new Dragin's today..4" longer in the leg so once my legs are bent on the bike..they'll be a perfect lenth..I hope to pick them up tomorrow.

Now all I need now is my bike back...

Congrats on the 5, they are amazing helmets. I miss mine horribly, going back to a one piece feels quite limiting.

I would love to get a new BMW helmet. My first Helmet was a System 2(or 3), and it was excellent. BUT BMW no longer sell helmets in the US.
