Does yours flop around much?...
I have the BMW touring windshield and just wondered, from those of you out there similarly equipped, does it wiggle much at highway speeds from wind, bumps, etc?
Thanks...

I had one brace that kept getting ooose after an hour or two causing my touring screen to wiggle....I carried a number 9 allen/socket wrench to tighten it. Took it to the shop for service and had the dealer really tighten it and replace a brace that I bent when I dropped the bike. It is dead solid now and doesn't vibrate, but there is some buffeting at high speed (over 80 85 mph)..I am 5'10"
if you really tighten the bolts which attach it to the bike it should not vibrate loose.

In all seriousness, the windshield mounting system on the Roadster is perhaps the weakest part of the bike's design. Other than surging of course with many of these motors.
My touring shield does torque around the center of the moment arm located between the lower and upper mounting brackets at low speeds when I go over bumps. At high speeds, the wind blast pushes the upper part of the shield downward a bit where the resulting tension keeps the windshield steady. So at highway speeds, I don't notice much motion.

You guys that had/have wiggle had something wrong with the installation. I had problems with the original installation of my touring screen and it was discovered that the factory installation parts included screws for the upper brackets that were too short. After replacing those with longer screws I've put 30K miles on mine with NO wiggle whatsoever. But I've only tested it up to 130 mph - I don't know what would happen if you were to go really fast...
And, yeah, the upper bracket screws are a b**ch to get to.

I have the 380mm touring screen and I found that it does loosen up after a bit. Probably the crappy roads here in Alberta. A little locktight fixed the problem
Also put a little locktight on the screws holding the windscreen in place. Don't know if that's a no-no, but voila, no loosening.
