Mirrors?? Options

Anyone do any mirror changes...I'm obsessing about making a change...might as well start here, usually the fast route to info...!

I've been trying to install Constructors Racing Group bar end mirrors, but since I've got heated grips, I've been having a substantial amount of trouble. For the left mirror the workaround I used was putting a ton of electrical tape around the notched threaded end.

The reason I went with CRG is that I've used them on several other bikes (sportbikes and standards) and they really let you see a lot due to the way the mirror is shaped. I can even see my passenger's face...

Any thoughts on cutting the threaded end off? Anyone know if it's got the internal diameter approximate to a standard 7/8" bar inside of there?

Cafe racer look, tough as nails. my right one hit the pavement in my crash, and did NOT break only a little touch up paint was needed.

good service, they sent me 2 bolts by mail to try on my bike before I ordered.

Wild... Looks like on their site that you can still use bar end weights as well? Is that the case?

How is the visibility?

Yes, They send 2 bolts a little longer to replace the current bolts in the bar end weights, so installation is a snap. Take stock bolt out, mirror goes on the end, insert new bolt, and screw them down. It's a nice clean design.

The mirrors behave as if spring loaded. I have spanked the edge of my shed with them backing up at least twice, and the glass BOUNCEs, not breaks.

If you are used to the stock mirrors these take a little getting used to as they are rounded to eliminate blind spots. The trade off is less rear view distance. Harder to spot police approaching from behind

The first week I had them I kept the stock mirrors on and used both to calibrate my brain to the new sightlines. It was a good transition exercise.

When I finally took the stock mirrors off, it gave the perception of standing on the wing of an airplane.

When I crashed I asked my dealer if the broken mirror(s) were in the estimate. "What broken mirrors?" he said. I still cannot figure out how that right mirror survived.

They are pricey, it was one of my first impulse buys. But the durability is proven in my book.

I've got the RS mirrors on mine. It's not a dramatic change, but a bit more stylish (in my opinion) than the stock mirrors.

I tried to order the sky king ones but they said they had no idea what to do about the heated grips... Their order form has two options:

18mm (.70inches)
8mm x 35mm stud

Which would the threaded-end heated grips bar be? 8x35mm stud?
