Weekend Ride

Post by Sit »

Went for a ride with the BMW shop from Eugene Oregon on Sunday up to Mary's Peak in the Oregon Coast Range. It is the highest peak in the Oregon coast range. As the main group was coming from Eugene and my wife and I live by Portland, we decided to meet them there after making our own two hour ride to get there. On the way up to the peak, the lead fast boys of the Eugene ride caught us and flew past us on their K bikes. Some impressive riding from the turn or two I saw them take and then they were gone. Too bad they were moving so fast, I am sure they missed the views the wife and I just had to stop and look at. So, just thought I would share a few of the pix for others to see.
Was a fabulous day for a ride. What was going to be a four hour ride turned into an eight hour, just didnt want it to end.

Weekend Ride

The first picture looks so much like it was taken in our local alpine region and the greenery surrounding the waterfall makes a nice tranquil setting for a stop.

I agree with what you inferred about riding at speed. It's fun to do it occasionally but I find that touring at a leisurely pace and taking in the scenery offers a special pleasure.

Sorry we missed meeting you and the BMW Eugene bunch! We had a full family weekend and couldn't get away from home in Salem.

We're gearing up for our big July trip now... final tinkering over the next 2 weeks, including His & Hers electrics upgrades on Saturday in the garage. If Sunday isn't too bad (rainy!), then we'll certainly head out somewhere...
