Battery or...?

Post by 1150rTodd »

I have an Odyssey PC-680 that is a couple years old. I've noticed that I have to constantly recharge the battery if the bike sits for more than a couple days. Is this a case of my battery going bad or could it be something else like the alternator not charging the battery? The battery takes a charge but it might not be holding it very well. I don't really remember this being 'normal'. Thanks.

Not common for an Odyssey but if it's going down while the bike is not being ridden for only a couple of days, it's the battery.

If you're riding it and it's going down, it's probably the alternator.

Sounds like the battery. Have it tested. A bad battery will over work the alternator causing failure, also will put a strane on other electrical parts, blown light bulbs ect. Also ck the alt. belt if it is slipping (and ytou my not hear it) it can cause the alt. not to charge and run the batt. down. Good luck.
