Bike Stuff on Christmas list

Post by wncbmw »

Personally, I am tired of all the melodrama around this place. So for a change of pace - How many of you guys have bike-related stuff on your Christmas list?

Santa (whose return address is curiously Carolina BMW in Greensboro :P ) already delivered the main item on my list, but my wife won't let me open it until Christmas.

Rev It Celcius winter gloves with Phase Change material to use the heat from the hand grips to keep my fingers toasty. A review will follow in January!

Anyone else hitting on Santa for part of your motorcycle wish list?

As a matter of fact Vann Santa Wife brought me some system cases.
Just in time for Death Valley week end of MLK. She got a great deal on ibmwr web site. So my christmas is off to a good start.

A tankbag, BMW(or Olympia) summer pants with the zip off legs, and maybe a newer/lighter color helmet.

But some $ may be get diverted to the kitchen remodeling fund.

I may wait until the m/c show in Cleveland and see what kind of deal I can get on the helmet.

Since I AM Santa Clause I don't epect to get any cycle stuff right now. I bought a rear tire about month ago. Wife said, "Merry Christmas" LOL

I've wanted a signal minder for about 3 years now, someday I'll buy one.

The thing that is at the top of my wishlist is a small tank-bag. Now, I've never been one to use a tank bag. I certainly see how handy they are, but have always had fear of scratching my already scratched tank. The size of them always turned me off too, that was until I found this little gem:

Tour Master Cortech Super Mini Magnetic Tank bag

That's what DSKYZD wants!

Scorpion Helmet and a Joe Rocket leather jacket for me.

I went and sat on the white limited ed. Hayabusa. My wife told me to go for it, but I didn't. Waiting for a peek at the 2006 FZ-1. I should have bought the 'busa...

I’m hoping for a set of caliper mount Moto Lights. I have been pretty good this year or at least I didn’t get caught being bad  so I think I have a pretty good chance of getting them.
Yer wanted by the police and my wife thinks your dead.

The funny thing is I'm content with the way my bike currently is setup. I do *need* a new helmet and jacket. I know my santa was going to get a helmet but I told her that I would have to try them on, so hold off (I'm still not sure which one I want). I think a new jacket is in order. I would LOVE the REV-IT jacket, but I can't let her spend that much on a jacket. OK, I could. Maybe some of those phase-change gloves.

Actually, the only REAL thing I ned for my bike is some nice long weekends.

Phase Change / Smartfabric gloves

Post by DSKYZD »

John and Vann have mentioned the gloves with phase change technology. I have a pair of the Roadgear ones I got from Bill at the RA Rally:

Roadgear Multiseason-Adaptive Tec Gloves

They're lined with the Outlast material. It has this cold clammy feel to it when you slide your hand. Once it aligns with your body temp it is slow to change. So, if your body gets warmer the gloves feel cool, if it gets colder the gloves feel warm. I'm sure you know this, but the effect is remarkable. I tried the windcheater jacket out for a little while too. They'd make a great warm layer.

BTW I threw those old unlined AGV gloves away. You guys know the ones, the gloves that would turn my hands black when it rained. My hands would be black for 3 days afterwards. Chucked those babies right in the dust bin, I did!

Santa

Post by wncbmw »

Brian - glad to hear the gloves worked. The Rev It gloves looks and fit like good, protective motorcycle gloves. If this phase change stuff works, I will be happy. And I am still using the Aerostich ones that turn my hands black in the rain too! But they have faded so much, I don't get as black as I used to! (Did that sound funny?)

And Marko, I like your thinking! Plus the GPS thoughts! And the lights! Unfortunately, Santa at my house is sort of tapped out after the kids stuff! :?
