throttlemeister install

Post by sugardoo »

Help please. I am trying to install the throttlemeister for my 1150r with heated grips and gs hand guards. I bought the ones for a GS and the instructions say to losen the control assembly with three philip screws. I found one on top, a shiny one on bottom and other than lossening the mirror any other screws to losen.

Thanks

after you remove the mirror, you'll see the other screw. You don't have to loosen them very much, you don't want it flopping around, just be able to snug it up with the tm tightened a little so that it's completely free when you back it off.

Judging from my new (to me) 2002 RT with heated grips, the grips swell a little when hot, so the tm will need to be looser than with non heated grips. My tm is too loose with no heat, and just right with heat on one dot or two dots, I'm going to tighten it a bit tonight.

Dave, good call. The instructions actually have you do the install with the heat ON.

Try that and all will be AOK .
