Parking Garages and Car Alarms

I work in a new office building with an underground garage. There are a limited number of designated executive parking spaces directly below the building, and then a garage connected by a tunnel which is next to the building.

When I ride my bikes, I can't use the separate executive entrance because the vehicle sensor is on a downhill angle and it is a weight sensor so it does not detect my bike (even with me on it). So, when I ride my bikes, I have to loop through the regular employees garage and then use a back drop gate to get in to executive parking.

When I ride my Ducati, with the loud Remus cans, through the regular parking garage I learned months ago that there is a tricked out Mustang with a sensitive alarm which goes off when I go by. THe car must belong to someone in another company in my building (it's an eight sotry building - lots of businesses). So, when I ride my Duc, usually on a Friday, I coast past the Mustang so I don't set off the alarm.

Yesterday, I was horsing around and I rode my BMW and decided to goose it through the garage, and the RT, with stock can, set off this (*$)*@)*! Mustang's alarm!

I just ignore it - if the idiot is stupid enough to have an alarm with the sensitivity set up that high, he deserves to have it go off. I use reasonable care not to set it off, but I should be able to ride a stock RT past a car at a reasonable distance, don't you think?

In the garage at Intel, I set off many alarms w/ the rumbly Roadstar Cobra pipes, not too many w/ sans can Rockster. Kinda funny, suits don't seem amused.

Once when I had my Ducati 900 Super Sport with loud pipes I was going down a side street towards home when I passed a car parked in the street.
A jogger was about to reach the car also, going the same direction as me.
When I passed the car the pipes set off the alarm. I slowed a bit and looked around just in time to see the highly agitated car owner come steaming out of the house to confront the hapless jogger who was now just passing the car, and appeared to have bumped it or something, and set off the alarm.
They were still yelling and waving their arms when I rounded the corner and disappeared.
One more reason I don't run...it can get you punched in the nose!

If a stock beemer can sets off a car alarm, then the problem is with the car's owner, not you or your bike.
