Experience with Quiet Ride Muffs?

Has anybody any experience with Quiet Ride Muffs? A friend of mine just about constantly has an ear infection. So he can't use the regular type earplugs. But he wants to keep riding his bike. He found this website http://www.quietridehelmets.com/
Anybody out here ever bought any of these? Experience? Do or dont't?

Ear infections can be painful and distracting. So it may be better if your friend can get his problems sorted out first.
That device looks a bit of a gimmick, but who knows?

do some googling. I was bored last night.... this isnt all its cracked up to be. some like it, some hate it. Its quite a job to get them into your helmet.

ID be interested if it was a little more low tech. like JUST the expanding muffs. Not much interest in the speakers. I find wind noise a large factor in road fatigue. second only to numb-bum. LOL
