Hello to the board.
New member here, but not new to BMW's. I am on my 3rd BMW; first one was a R1200CLC (the Harley looking one), then a K1200LT (the aircraft carrier) and my current bike is a 2009 R1200RT. On top of that my youngest kid moved out of the country and "inherited" his 2004 R1150R.

He and the bike have been involved in a small accident this past February and the insurance went "all in" to total it. I bought it from them and rebuilt it. Now is perfectly legal and it will be my "summer" bike :D

Because it was his only transportation mean some services to the bike were delayed and now that I have it I will be doing all that. I may post my progress with pics to the forum. Bike has currently 21K and I bought it for him with 10K.

My first order of business is to bleed the ABS (I did this on all the prior bikes with Servos) and bleed the clutch. I have speed bleeders on order and they are due tomorrow.

Anyway just wanted to say hi!

New member. Paul Marcon
Have been riding since my first bike at 18 yrs old, 1972 Yamaha 125 2 stroke, burned a hole through the piston (didn't mix enough oil with gas) walked it home 2 miles away. Fixed it and sold it. Great dirt bike. Stopped riding at about 20 when I crashed Kawasaki h2 750 doing 140 racing (luckily no broken bones just road rash). Took up riding again at 50, haven't stopped since. Best thing I did was to take all day riding course again in FL to refresh riding skills and learn new ones.
On my 3rd BMW. First one was a R1150RT with 138,000 miles used it as my service vehicle for a year traveling and fixing voice and data problems around Florida ran great in rain storms, next one was a 1200c, yellow with all the chrome stuff. Now have a R1150R with over 100,000 miles drove from FL to Michigan (am semi-retired at 62) and back with no problems, just a cracked headlight lens. Had a Honda shadow then a 1200 sportster (worst bike I ever owned) am staying with BMW bikes!
