+1 abouth moisture through breater plug.So...I can change diffy oil at least once ayear or more often /180ml/=5 oil changes=1liter,cca 1quart of oil -just peace of mind.Not a big expence to save a big expences for myself.Peace of minde.

Don, I have a 08 R1200R and have had no issues with the final drive.

I also have a R75/6, with 175,000 miles on it. The final has gone the distance. The drive splines on the ring gear do wear and are repairable. It has 4 tapered bearings all lubed by the gear oil.

Other than repairing the ring gear splines at 90,000 miles the drive has been stone reliable.

Maybe BMW should revisit the design.
