Starting Very Rich

Post by rdriver »

Has anyone had issues with rich starting, with lots of fuel smoke, and runs rough for at least 30 seconds. 50k on the clock. I'm thinking fuel injectors?? Once warm about 1 minute it runs great. Any ideas? :?

Try some injection cleaner follow the instructions! someone shelled a motor using too much seafoam , is the fuel old? has it been doing this for more than one tank of fuel? Any chugging at low speeds? Search the site for similar issues there is a good chance you will find the fix. I have 55k approx. it runs smooth as silk on regular, pulls good.
Good luck let us know what you find.
Mike

BTW I use Seafoam in all of my small engines four & two strokes and it seems to work ok nothing dramatic just smoother running possibly better starting, I just follow the directions.

Once warm it runs great. Drivablility is excellent. Just the start up is embarassing. Has done this for the time I have owned it. The P.O. said he had issues with it, but he seemed to think it was from parking in the garage on the side stand. I don't park in my garage on the side stand. Never have and never will, and it still does the same thing. I have run BMW injector cleaner that was given to me, with no big results. However I will try some BG products 44k. The best stuff I have used in any vehicle. Not cheap though. I would think though that if it were an injector problem with the spray pattern then it would effect all drive modes. :?
