Idle drop

Post by Buckster »

Trying to figure out a solution to a problem I am having. I have had the idle drop to about 6K when I pull in the clutch when slowing down. A few times the bike has stalled-not a good thing.
So now I 'm noticing that just sitting at a light that the idle will be fine at 11k then will just drop to about 6k for a second, then right back to 11k. This will happen about every 8-10 seconds the last time I rode.
I did the 60k maintenance in August. Adjust valves, TB synch, new plugs gapped to spec. Has run great until about 2 weeks ago. I also shot some TB cleaner down the TB's and have run 2 tanks with Techron added in the last 2 weeks.
This is a single spark model and the spark plug wires are probably original.
Thanks for any input.

When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter? Wondering if possibly some trash is momentarily affecting fuel flow.

I replaced that at 48k. Probably 3 years ago or so.
