BMW Soft Sportbag 2

Post by rlprell »

Hi - I was wondering if anyone is using this bag on their stock rear rack? I have an 02 R1150R with the system cases and was looking for an alternative to a hard top case. I don't really want to remove/replace the stock rack and was hoping that this soft case would be the answer for extra storage AND 'backrest' for my passenger.

Thanks for you input.

I've been using a MotoFizz small and medium bag for 2-3 years now and I'm very happy with them. Very durable and flexible in their use so to a myriad of ways to strap them onto your moto. Aerostich has both sizes and may be the only importer in the US.

I used one of those on my Rockster for a few years - superb bit of kit - fits perfectly on the OE rack plate. All you have to do is hook the straps around the most convenient point to keep the bag falling off backwards.

I wouldn't say it was any good as a 'back rest' though as it's just fabric - there's nothing structural in it.

I have one and use it occasionally. When used as a backrest for the passenger, I make sure it is stuffed full to add support. Try stuffing it with small pillows if you dont have enough things to make it full.
