Re: Bike stalls after letting go of the throttle
This is REALLY a case where a scan of the active inputs to the BMS-K using a GS-911 would be useful. You'll immediately be able to tell if the sidestand switch is working correctly. The new switch isn't actually a switch - it's a hall-effect sensor, meaning there are no contacts in it to get dirty. I wouldn't expect it to fail unless it's physically damaged, or the cable to it is physically damaged.
As far as the TPS reset - unnecessary on the hexhead bikes. The computer learns the range of the TPS as you ride the bike. If you really feel you have to teach it (only needed after a "clear-adaptations" with a tool like the GS-911) - it only requires turning the ignition on, twisting the throttle ONCE to fully open and then forgeddaboutit - it learned what it needs to know.

Thank you, Deilenberger.
Wow, that is great to know.
Is it your opinion that the GS-911 is an indispensable tool?
Thank you so much for your advice.
Have a great day.

Re: Bike stalls after letting go of the throttle
Silvio - yes, I consider it an essential tool for any of the modern BMWs.. there are lots of computers on the bikes, and it can get very expensive throwing parts at the bike to try to fix it - usually more expensive than the cost of the GS-911 which very well might lead you directly to the cause of your problem. It has for me..
Steve - thanks for the kind words..

Re: Bike stalls after letting go of the throttle
HI Silvio, I once had a similar problem to your description. It was found to be an intermittent failure of the potentiometer located on the left manifold. It is part of the throttle circuitry. The problem did not occurred after replaced that potentiometer.
