Plastic fuel regulator pipe to injector hose damaged

When replacing one of the short rubber fuel injector hoses (the lower one that joins to the plastic tube from the regulator) I managed to cut into the plastic just the other side of the copper insert - if that makes sense....

It looks like replacing the plastic tube could be a whole load of work and involve a new fuel regulator assembly?

Any ideas on a fix would be appreciated, thought of trying to push the new injector hose beyond the split plastic and then clamping but that would be beyond the copper insert which I guess may cause yet more problems....

Now kicking myself for my dumb handiwork and not realizing what cutting into the old hose might lead too (disaster!)

Could you post some pictures to see what you're looking at?
I'm curious if there isn't an easy fix.

Here is the before image (no idea why there is only one quick disconnect, work of the previous owner)...



Now with hose removed and cut shown in plastic connector pipe, which extends slightly beyond the copper insert meaning fuel will leak at this point....
