Rog(UK) - Yorkshire Dales wrote:Hands high. Yep, you're quite correct Riceburner. It would have been lovely to have been so lucky, but the bike .....er, I mean the Spitfire was photoshopped in.

I deliberated for an 'age' before I posted the pic without, at that time, an explanation. I hope you will forgive the subterfuge.

Best wishes,

Rog
It's a good pic though. :D

Thanks!

They are the same as for the 1150GS, mine had to be cut down a bit to fit the cabling is all.

Erne,I'm loving the mods you've done to your Rockster. Would you mind sharing them with us?

I specifically interested in the muffler, almost exactly what I'd like to do to mine.

Also, what mirrors are those? Rizomas?

Looks really good, to my eye.

@ jfslater98:
The Muffler respectively the whole exhaust system is a single piece, handmade. It is a Bodis manifold(?), a Mivv Muffler and a handmade stainless steel connector inbetween both with a cat inserted to have the muffler mounted on the Bodis.
The clamp of the muffler is mounted directly at the gearbox.
I got this system from a small BMW tuning factory, they made it for testing purposes and then it was for sale. Except of the reduced weight, the sound is incredible, whether the bike gained power I do not know, but it rides well with it. ;-)

The other mods are a 1150GS windshield, Ducati Monster Frontfender, Hesa-Tailkit, Rizoma-Mirrors, Wunderlich handguards clear look, Kellermann Handlebarblinkers, Wüdo Luggage-rack, foglights between radiators and cylinders, some black color (i. e. headlight-housing and -holder, Valvecaps(?), footpegholders (powdercoating just in progress) ), rear rod of a 1150GS (it's shorter, so the tail comes up about 1"), handlebar riser (about 2.5" higher/closer to driver), different footpegs, rear footpegs including holders removed.
Maybe some other small mods are made, but those are the biggest.

Next week (or whenever it's warm enough for working in the unheated garage) a 1150GS rear shock absorber will be installed to have the tail come up another bit...

Marc

BTW: The skulls at the radiator housings are not, because I'm an evil guy, but because, the blue and white BMW logo didn't match the bike's color and the only fitting decals I found where those...

I just took another couple inches off the screen (only use it in the winter), and purchased the little Joe Rocket pod for the pax seat blank. The seat bag houses the helmet when I'm off the bike, and carriers beer home from the store like a champ!

jas - How did you end up painting your valve covers? Powder coat or shoot with appropriate paint? Surface prep?

I remember a thread from a few years back concerning Rockster paint bubbling for many of our bikes...

Sweatmark - pm sent.

The short of it is:
Stripped paint, sanded, primed, engine enamel paint, dry in oven, sand. Repeat for three coats. If you get a chip in the cover, sand, wipe paint, ride!
