For people who don't have a BMW Roadster yet for sure the best naked bike on the market if you can afford to spend the $$$...
But as an already R1200R owner,I feel a little underwhelmed about the facelift.
The instrument cluster could have looked nicer.Kind of reminds me of the old R100R cluster from 1993 that wasn't one of BMW's design highlight either...
If black or silver engine block that is a matter of taste.
The old classic black I liked better than the new metallic black.
The spoke wheels look nice but they look like they use tubes;outch!
Even the R100R from 1993 had tubeless tires.
What I like is the new and better looking beefier fork and better sounding a la 2010 GS exhaust valve exhaust system. No need anymore for a pricecy aftermarket system.
What I was looking forward to was a 2nd version of the R as a real sport-touring replacement for R1100RS or R1100S of late
I don't understand why BMW leaves such a big gap in it's model-line where the japanese have all 2nd versions with half-fairing and lower bars for their Fazer,Bandit,CBF and Z1000 naked bikes
Anyways at least I don't have to kill the pig...
If it wasn't for the tubes I would have liked to get the new spoked wheels for my current black R1200R with Wunderlich-S fairing...but tube tires are too "classic" for me...
I hoped for a more "classic" version of the R1200R-Classic.
With S-fairing,nice details like classic looking valve covers, tail section and paintjobs evoking the iconic R90S...
Again, nice bike the new 2011-R but I hoped for a little more.
If the handling is better with the 6mm beefier fork I might retrofit that one...
The RT vs "new" K1200S/R1200S wheels make no diffeence to me;both look nice!
Hex or camhead is also a toss.Easy to adjust the valves yourself for free or not as easy and not for free but longer adjustment intervals?!
Hey BMW bring on that R1200R/S...
