TIV,

I am glad you are blessed with height, but unfortunately I am not. It is not so much the overall height, but the inseam length (what the British call "inner leg measurement"), which can vary, regardless of your height. I am 5'8" with a 29" inseam (on a tall day).

Being on "tippy toes" is what drove me away from a R1200RT to the R1200R. I wasn't comfortable backing the bike into parking spaces, especially if they were off camber in either direction. "Tippy toes" is also not confidence inspiring at intersections that are slicked with oil.

If you are comfortable on "tippy toes" with a 700 lb bike (RT fully loaded), then go for it.
