Post by borderbiker »

HiTHERE FOLKS,
Just got myself an 04 rockster in the lime and black. I was wondering if anyone on here has fitted a top box to theirs. If anyone has can you tell me how you did it cheers.

If you have the BMW silver rack then you can semi-permanently fix a top-box like this :

The box is sitting on a plastic bread board (cut to fit) in place of the silver part of the BMW rack. The metal sheet inside the box spreads the load from the 4 screws that align with the existing holes in the BMW rack uprights.

whole thing WILL wobble over bumps etc but has not failed in over 3 years of daily use. :)

it's not an instant on/off though, (obviously) - but it's only 4 screws to remove the uprights from the grab handles - 30 seconds with a Torx. :)

If you find your box bounces around a bit get the Givi mounting kit, other brands of top box base plates can be drilled to fit it.
