R1150R Front Brakes

I just purchased a 2003 R1150R with only 3800 miles on it. Everything is great, but front brakes squeek when I come to a stop. Previous owner stated it was normal for this bike , is this true..

Yes, They squeak when they're dirty, but they can be cleaned easily enough and the sqeal will disappear. About every 3000 miles I blow the dust out of each front caliper with either air (while wearing a mask) or just spray them with a hose (which is safer because you won't breathe brake dust). I also wipe the rotors with a rag I sprayed some Brake cleaner on (the "non-chlorinated" kind is safer too.) It is not a good idea to just start spraying brake cleaner all over the calipers because it can damage the rubber dustboots around the pistons, and this would eventually cause $$$ problems.

An 03 with only 3800 miles is quite a find! Unless you have records that indicate routine services have been performed (brake and clutch bleed) you better learn to do it or have it done asap. Moisture in those systems can cause costly repairs.
