Hello from a new UK Rockster owner

Post by Kestrel »

Hi guys,

Just thought I would introduce myself and my new ride. I never thought I'd buy a beemer but my word am I sure I made the right choice. I've been lurking and reading various threads on here, even before I bought my bike. THis board has already been so helpful and all (well most of) you lot seem very nice. :D

So here she is, a 2004, officially orange and black, but I would say she looks a little more glamorous now...

Any other Rockster owners around the SW of this fair isle?

To contribute some info, this weekend I installed hard wire cable for my gps.
I read lot of the gps hard wire threads and asked my local dealer a few questions before I installed my TT Rider this weekend, all seeming to say different things. After checking all the wiring diagrams as well, I ended up splicing into the 'spare circuit' in the fuse box. F9 I believe. It means that the TT only has switched power, which is what I wanted, and it's a very tidy install (all the spliced bits are waterproofed with the other wires in the fuse box. Overall, I'm really pleased with the way it turned out, I won't say I was quick, but I was thorough and didn't need to pull the tank or any other dramatic stuff. It could be done really quick again now that it is all worked out. If anyone has any questions or horror stories about anything I did wrong, please let me know. I forgot to take pictures though. oops.

Whereabouts are you? I'm in West Sussex. :)

Nice colour scheme - have seen pics of that scheme before - do you know how many bikes have been done like that??

I MUST get around to organising another Rockster owners meet up.....

Hi Riceburner, I'm in Somerset.

The PO said he thought there were only two painted like this (whether that's true or not...) in the country.

I would definitely be up for a Rockster meet. Anywhere that would be a good excuse to ride to :D
