Service indicator on again. wtf?

Post by tvlawyer »

A few weeks ago my SERVICE indicator came on. Next service due in 3300 miles. The dealer plugged in and reset the system three times before the indicator finally turned off. Well, it's on again! Is there a way I can reset it myself? Should I try another dealer? :?:

No on the bike way. If you wanted to buy a GS-911 diagnostics tool, it is now capable (version 904 released TODAY) of resetting the service reminder (and a buncha other stuff..)

If I had one of these gizmos and found a fault, could I tell my dealer, "My GS-911 says..." and not have to pay for further diagnostics, or would they laugh me out of the shop?

Not pay? Not a chance.. they have to "confirm" what it says.. but my local shop was quite interested in the GS-911. Sorta think some of the mechanics would like an alternative to a $15k unobtainium machine from BMW if they decided to branch off on thier own.
