Install Centre stand ?do it myself? 2004 rockster

Post by bubbac45 »

Hello Forum
A Newbie needs help.
I bought the 2004 ROC used. I didn't notice that it had no centre stand.
Every BMW from my r6o to r1100r had a centre stand. Bummer!
It seems you can buy the stand and the pieces for about $350 from BMW.
Before I rush in ....errr ..I thought I would ask for directions ......
(I installed peg lowers GREAT!! Suburban says that is not a problem.)
Thanks for any help or advice

Yes, easy Do It Yourself project. Helps to have an assistant holding bike upright as you attach the centerstand.

Use plenty of anti-sieze for the pivoting surfaces.

Buy a spring puller for the installation if you don't already have one. Attaching the centerstand spring was the most difficult part of process.
