I have a policy with Markel for my '04 1150RA for $269 a year. Insurance is not required on a motorcycle in Washington state, but of course you have liability nonetheless.
This policy is for 100/300 bodily injury, the same for a passenger and 50000 for property damage. I also have comp and collision and roadside assistance. I AM now 61 so maybe I am getting the geezer discount.
Formost. 2004 r1150r $500 deduc. $3500 acc. full cov. 2007 yamaha tw200 $250 deduc.full cov. 2005 honda rukus $250 deduc. full cov. towing on all 3. READY? $212 a year. I'm 49 and live in WI 1hr N of Milwaukee. Shop around. 3rd year with them with no claims, clean diving record and multi discount. Full cov on the yamaha and honda only because the cost was only $18 more.. Just in case of theft or bouncing out of the trailer. And "Towing within reasonable distance". (Policy statement, whatever that means)
I have American Modern in KY out of Cinn., OH for $235 per yr full coverage. KY Farm Bureau doesn't sell MC ins.. Looks like I need to contact Progessive for a quote from above comments?
Correction, as I was going on memory-the new bill just came in today and it is $227 for a year with full coverage and $500 deductibles on comp and coll.. I just went online and did a Progressive quote which I followed up with a call and they want $501 yrly.for the same coverage. My American Modern Policy has a list in the back which shows 33 different companies under the "privacy list" and I have no idea what that implies? I see the guy above that has cheap Progressive insurance and thought I'd give it a shot. I am getting no discounts with my current coverage as that is all I buy from them. KY Farm Bureau doesn't offer MC insurance so I buy this direct : company web site is :www.AMIG.com or call 800-543-2644.
I inquired about car and bike insurance in the past through teachers unions, etc., that was supposed to be a big discount and would often be 4-5 times what I pay with Farm Bureau!I remember one quote was for $2600+ per year for a car that I was paying like $200 per year. Rule to have(based on my experience) is do not trust insurance companies!
