Hi all
At 6'2" I am going to want to tweak the setup of my 850 suit me better.
I plan to pad up the seat and fabricate up some barbacks.
I have been looking at the suburban machinery peg lowering kit. My question with these is: will installing them make any real changes as to how far I can lean the bike before the pegs scrape. I'm not a knee-down type but I DO like to get bikes well over from vertical.
Anyone fitted these and have real-world experience??
Also, is there a cheaper option than the above mentioned ones? with the New Zealand dollar getting just over .50cents US that makes them REAL expensive... then theres shipping to add as well.
Thanks
Tracy

Re: peg lowering kit??
Thanks Roadglide
Actually I'll be fabricating up some here. Where I work has a pattern shop attached to the foundry... and a big bin full of alluminium plate just waiting to be made into bike stuff
Tell me, what dimensions are your peg kits? I mean how much lower/further forward do they place the pegs? this will give me something to work to
thanks again

Position change 1.45" down, 0.38" forward don't sound like much but what a difference. let me know how you make out good luck
Re: peg lowering kit??
When I bought my '04 1150RA, it already had the bars raised. The ride home was excruciating due to the stock seat and the peg position. I had the dealer install the peg kit that also includes a different shift lever. I then had a custom seat made. The comfort factor is phenomenal. However, two things have changed: 1. I have VERY LARGE FEET - it doesn't take much lean for my feet to scrape. I don't think I could get anywhere near my pegs. 2. It is now impossible for the aforementioned foot to achieve contact with the centerstand. I have solved that problem with a carpenter's rule. It's weird, but it works.
