Air management - something new

Post by nixdsg »

So I have a Ztechnik Vstream, standard height, and not completely happy with it. Too much noise and turbulence. I also got the tall version and found almost no improvement. By the way, I'm 5'-6" w/ 30" inseam and the bike has the low seat.

So I have a tall screen I'm not using, what to do? Well....

I cut the tall one down to be the same size as the standard screen. Then taking the cut off and making a home made "laminar lip". Hinging at the front of the lip, spacing off ~1.5 " and adding an adjustable spacer at the back/top to vary the angle. Once I have the best angle I'll replace the adjustable with permanent spacers at the top.

If I can figure out how to post pictures(????) I'll get them up asap.

Pics gotta be posted via a link to your (free) Smugmug, Photobucket, etc. account. I couldn't figure it out either but Don set me straight. Once your pics are in that location, select the pic you want to post here, then select the small box that says something about 'for forums' and use that link in your post here.

I have an acount at photobucket and after you upload an image to that site it gives you the option to copy it to different styles. One being the kind that is used here. I just click on the place below the uploaded photo that has this format and then go to this site and paste it to my message and it works great.
We need to see what you have done.

It looks cool. Does it work? Have you tried it?

Honestly, I don't know yet. Too farting cold! 15 degrees F isn't my kind of riding weather!

Also, I need to finish it. The top of the piece I added isn't secured, I need to add some supports to hold it at the angle I want. I wanted to make something adjustable, maybe with a small knob to turn to adjust the angle, but haven't found anything that'll work yet. hummmmmm. It's in my head, just can't find what I want.

Any suggestions??

Thanks.
