Is the painted headlight found on the earlier R1100R the same diameter as the later chrome headlight?

For those that might want to know....it seems the early painted headlight buckets were approximately 7 inches in diameter, while the later chromed buckets were around 8 inches. I thought about switching out my painted bucket for a chrome one, but it looks like that might not happen. I guess I can always have my bucket chromed.

You could also go for some el cheapo aftermarket chome headlight. Just take the measurements and look around. Here in Germany we have some motorcycle aftermarket warehouse chains like Polo and Louis and they have these for little money in all different measurements. I am sure in the US similar stores are available.

That might probably be cheaper than getting your old headlight chromed (bearing in mind that old reflectors should also be changed as they tend to lose their brilliance over the years).
