Remove baffle on Power Cone

Post by youmaycallmecasper »

I purchased and installed the Remus Power Cone. Quick and easy install. I tried to remove the bafffle but was unable. There is a snap ring on the end of the piple that I removed. I was told I could then just pull out the baffle. I pulled pretty hard and it still didn't budge.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Casper,
If you look carefully the clip is spot welded. Mine is spot welded on the right side, looking at the rear of the muffler, near the clip eye on the very end of the clip . I tried to force mine to release but to no avail. I will probably use a small, high speed grinder to remove the weld.
I have about 5,000 miles on my Remus system, I have the headers and the Power Cone and it is pretty loud even with the silencer. All of the factory testing was supposedly done with the silencer in the Power Cone so for my taste this system is loud enough...it really sounds good. With 5,000 miles on it I think the noise level is where it will stay...we'll see! I am curious about what it will sound like without the silencer so one day I'll do some grinding.
I can tell you that the system really works and the additional horsapower and torque is noticeable.

Thanks for the insight. I like the setup I have now as well, just the curiosity of how it would sound without the baffle is getting to me.

I may try the grinding option as well.
