Never ask permission, ask forgiveness. If you ask permission you get a ROS (raft'o'sh!t) going in and a ROS going out. Asking forgiveness reduces that to a single ROS.. and sometimes, just sometimes, they just say "OK.. whatever.." (SWMBO did on the Roadster when I pointed out the last bike I'd bought new was 33 years before, and I'd be 98 for my next one at that rate..
