I have been clicking on this forum a few weeks before I decided to purchase my new R, back in December 07.
Read a lot and decided that only did I like the bike: nice riding position, powerful, and looks great; but you guys also seemed very happy with your purchase.
This is my first BMW, and my first ever-new bike; and I'm 52...

So far, I have about 1,600k on the bike; about 875 miles; and have done my first service.
Now I get to open her up...

The bike runs great, looks great, and now I will begin the process of accessories..

I have included a few photos.....I know they all look the same, but I never get tired of looking at your photos....

Oh, the Granit Grey is the fastest……something to do with the matt finish…..more aerodynamic…

Very sharp! It's a whole different experience when you finally get to take it over 4K RPMs.

First of all - welcome!

The R is a fantastic bike & it gets sweeter as the miles increase...

As for the nitrous; i had NOS installed on my track car. Took my 0-60 sprint down from 6.1 secs to 3.9 and really increased midrange power (alot! )
But it was a real pain in the tush refilling the bottle, keeping it at the right temp, etc...so in the end i had it taken off.
I can't even begin to imagine what NOS would do to a bike - espacially one with as much torque as the R12R [-o<

It's interesting - mine seems to get even smoother with miles on it.. I now often find myself running in 3rd gear up to 60-65 MPH - mostly 'cause it is so smooth I don't even notice the RPM. It is rather fun running it that way since you can really use the engine for control and never worry about lugging it out of a corner. I imagine it isn't doing my fuel mileage any good.. :)
