Wow. I love that road. Went on it for the 2nd time and just tore it up! I want to kiss the DOT people who designed that road.

This is a pic of me at a waterfall that is off of a side road of the skyway.

Forgot to add that HighLordGomer (aka Mike) met up with my group in Cleveland, GA and rode along with us. Here is his pic with his fiance.

Smoky Mountains, TN

Starts at Tellico Plains, TN, Hwy 165, and runs for ~ 57 miles changing to Hwy 143 in NC ending in Robinsville, NC.

In my humble oppinion there isn't any road in the US that a motorcycle rider can derive more riding pleasure from. Long, long sweepers elevation changes, beatiful surface, and there a miriad of other roads in the inmediate area for all types and styles of ridding.

I live in Louisiana and that is my favorite go to place every chance I have.......

Yup. What boxermainia said. It is simply a great road. Plus, it doesn't have anywhere near the amount of traffic that US 129 (Deals Gap) has.

Well stated Al, I love that road! The best in the region - hwy 28 from Deals Gap store to Franklin is another favorite of mine!

Hi, Bill.....glad to see you are back from your journey's. Yes, the Smokies catch my fancy but I'm sure that you have plenty similar examples in this beautifull US of A worth riding.

How is that Rockster doing.....everything you expected?

Oh yes! The Rockster is fantastic! I really didn't expect it to be such a "different" bike then the Roadster - i was wrong - it has a distinct personally - just feels different and I feel more confident on it.

The Lazer System and chip have made it a really responsive bike too! What a total difference.

I am heading to Americade this coming Saturday - working for ROADGEAR and then we go down to Knoxville for the Honda Hoot - will be back home around June 26th.

It is amazing to me how much history and interesting things there are to see and do in the USA! I used to be a big fan of traveling and riding out of country - after 9/11 I seemed to have a change in mindset and have since been traveling in the USA - I try to find regions of the country that have interesting places to visit and learn about. I use a great touring magazine called "RoadRunner Motorcycle cruising and touring for many of the rides i plan and do.

Right now I have a number of rides planned for this year and into next year:

Southern Vermont - four day rides out of Rutland, VT

Chattanooga, TN three rides out and back out of that area

Western Pennsylvania - four day ride

West Louisiana/East Texas - for this winter months - not so cold down here in the south along the coast.

All these places have history and cultural tid bits that are interesting -

Go to this web site and look over the roadrunner magazine - they have great rides with little plastic maps of each ride - a great resource.

Bill, Thanks for info on Road Runner mag. I will subscribe. Man those
rides you have planned look terrific. I am originally from Connecticut,
but I didn't ride a bike when I lived there. I would love to do gettysburg
and some of the battlefields in the area. Looking forward to your write ups
of your planned rides.

1mph - do you use a GPS? Some of these loops and rides are on such little known roads they are hard to find! I have made GPS routes for all the rides - I use a Garmin 276C with software "MapSource-City Select.

Let me know if you use this software - i could send you some of the rides if you want them.

Bill, I don't use GPS. Maybe if I lived back east I would want one, but
out here (west) I just use regular maps. Thanks for the offer.
