10,001 miles as of 2:30PM today

Post by deilenberger »

Since June. Not up to ChiTown's rate - but it's probably a tiny bit easier to put miles on out west than in the megaopolis that's the north-east and south-east.

That was my goal for 2007.. had to go in some cold rain (about 38F) to get there, but every one of those miles were "smiles".. (as Voni Glaves would say..)

Never had a bike that demands to be ridden so much... made for a very enjoyable "personal best.."

Now off to wrap the Christmas presents. And mebbe a few hundred miles tomorrow if it isn't raining when I get up :) :D

Congratulations! BTW, do they salt the roads in NJ like they do in PA? If they do, what do you do to prevent corrosion? When I get stir crazy I take it out for a run and then wash it thoroughly when I get home.

8115 total miles for me today after a 150 miler to deliver Christmas presents to the War Veterans home at Jackson Louisiana.

Since I have put the GS handguards on the RR it thinks it's a Dual Sport bike! Here I am chasing an F650GS !

Thanks... I don't think they're quite as generous with the salt as PA is - and luckily we've had rain for several days since the last time they salted, so most of it is gone.

Washing it before putting it to bed is about all you really can do.. and I have a blower to blow it dry once it's washed.

That's the problem with having seven bikes in my stable.. I try to ride each one of them on a regular basis, just to keep the fluids moving, the seals from drying out, etc. Doing so keeps the miles down as I "spread 'em out" a bit more than most.
