Dial-Up version + 4 more Ozark On-Bike videos

What a great time I had. I slowed down a little because there is still a 1/8" virgin stripe unused on the rear tire's edge. When you watch the video (3 or so more to come) look at the guard rails, rock walls and trees that will greet man&machine that go off-road. I had to leave a 10% margin of safety because my wife will get all my stuff! The way I always ride is to avoid using the brakes, so I don't go full throttle and then jam on the brakes 500 feet later for the curve. That's not necessary during a multi hour ride. It's not a race . . . . It's just a spirited ride where I'll try to stay in the upper gears as much as possible without unnecessarily wearing out the rear tire with heavy throttle & front brakes with panic stops. I'll back off early, downshift and let the engine slow me down. In a group ride, I loose them in the sequence of corners and they catch me on the straights.

You can try and see the foliage too, but it's a little blurry at speed. Later on I will be uploading the additional videos and a smaller Dial-Up version, all taken prior to this one on the same road. The clock on my bike is 1 hour fast as I live in a different time zone.

Prior to clicking on the links here, be sure Java Script and cookies are enabled (temporarily) so everything works. When you get the GigaSize webpage, look for the small green rectangular "DOWNLOAD" box in center right screen. Don't click it yet! Enter the graphical 3 letter code you see into the blank white box above it, then hit the green DOWNLOAD box. The screen changes as a numeric 30 second countdown timer counts down to zero. Then the green DOWNLOAD box appears in the countdown timer's place. Hit the DownLoad box again and your browser's DownLoad window will pop up. Select where to save the file and the D/L begins. I recommend you walk away and do not multi-task while the D/L is happening. It not so many words, the website says the same thing.

At 83.4 MegaBytes, it's definitely not for dial up.

I was amazed at the fact Rob hardly ever used the brake, just using the engine to slow down. I did not have much of the engine braking to play with. A testament to Rob's smooth riding ability!

Here are 3 videos leading up to the roads in first post above. The 1st number of the file name corresponds to the order it was taken. That was the last part of the days ride route, then we had to turn around and go back. It was getting darker, and we realized we would miss the Saturday evening dinner and ceremonies. OU812 wanted to cry because those roads were work for him and the K1200LT. He couldn't believe there were no OTHER roads that could take us back to the motel. The GPS said "When possible, make a legal U-Turn". I zoomed out and scanned the GPS road map only to find there is a huge forest, mountain ranges and only roads that take us even further North, the other way from where we need to go. As I turned the bike around, Steve was sarcastically mimicking a little boy crying to his mommy. I don't think he was kidding. He was real tired and mentioned something about a painful rotator cup(?).

The roads in the following videos are all on route 123 in Arkansas. Not sure of the town name(s), but there's nothing there but wilderness, so it didn't much matter to me. I always had the GPS to get me home to the motel the quickest way, no matter how lost we got. What a great system!!

All the .AVI video files here are free to D/L. Be prepared for a longer download time than your normal. The free file storage service purposely limits the D/L speed a little slower than full speed for the free account. I recommend you start the download and walk away. Multi tasking has screwed up downloads when using GigaSize.com so disable your screensaver and update your virus definitions before beginning the D/L.
You must have JavaScript and cookies enabled before you can access the files.

As a former Dial-Up customer for many many years, I know what it's like. In my discussion about posting a smaller file Dial-Up version, DuckDave sprang into action. He created a much smaller file sized version of the 84MB movie that only occupies 5.85MB !! It has the wind noise sound removed and a Bob Dylan song in it's place. It's just fine if you use the default small screen size and get close to your monitor. You'll be singing the song the rest of the day too.

Here it is. Use the instructions in my post way above to access and D/L the 5min33sec .MOV file to your hard drive.

wncbmw, Vann, I know that as we get older we have less-n-less time for patience . . . . But I just:
--- Clicked on one of the video links.
--- It took me to the GigaSize WebSite.
--- From center right screen I read and entered the 3 (graphical) security letters visible in the pic into the empty white box, then hit the green DOWNLOAD box.
--- the screen changes and a numeric countdown timer appears right center screen.
--- When the 30 second timer hits zero it changes to the green DOWNLOAD box again.
--- Hit that DOWNLOAD box and your browser's file save/open window appears.
--- Select where on your hardrive to save the file(s) and it starts downloading.

Total time to start the D/L, just over ONE minute.

Beemeridian. Knowing of the 700 MB capacity of a CDR, I wispered into Phil's ear on the phone about including large file "stuff" we know you'll get a LOT of use out of. You know . . . . with the red hat, red outfit and a few more pounds, he could pass for Santa.

You need Javascript enabled or nothing will happen on GigaSize and any website where you want to get things done like upload/download files or add to cart shopping. For my browser I ALWAYS use FireFox, current Ver 2.0.0.9, and sixteen really useful "extensions" that allow more control over what happens . . . or not. One of those extensions is "NoScript" which allows you to choose which sites, like this one, CAN use javascript code to execute screen tasks and execute files.

Check your javascript and cookie settings and loosen them up temporarily to enable file D/L's. You do NOT have to endure advertising abuse if the correct steps are taken, as I described here and in the post before this one. Javascript is the key!!
