Something of Interest for you Scout Fairing owners

Post by ewenn342 »

I just recently installed the Parabellum Scout fairing on my R1150r.
I read the instructions were they say you MUST remove the headlight plastic side covers. They say the covers cannot be used in conjunction with the fairing mounts. I was able to keep the covers on with the fairing installed!!! This makes for a much cleaner finished look.

I mounted the front fairing brackets on the inside of the headlight mounts. I did remove one of the ribbed washers from each side of the headlight to make space for the new brackets.

If you want to just mount the plastic covers without moving the mounting brackets inboard, I think the covers might still snap in place.?

I do not know if this works for the new r1200r install, but it sure makes the fairing look much cleaner on the 1150.

BTW, Very happy with the fairing performance. They are expensive, but they do work well IMHO. I also happen to like the looks of the fairing.

No problems with your headlight jiggling out of alignment without the grip provided by the ribbed washer?

That maybe an issue, as I believe the washer has small grooves in it to hold the headlight in place.

I installed mine just as the insuct. said. After 1 day of looking at it I removed the turn signals and put the side covers on. U can use only one snap on each side. (would have to look but think it was the back )Almost 7000 miles and both are still on. No problem.
