Seems to be a common problem with all painted forks.
Had mine replaced yesterday, under warranty (my warranty ends at the end of october).
Touch-up paint isn't available from BMW, although it is listed in the Real OEM-parts list.
I ordered a touch-up paintstick (orange 836, but even that doesn't seem to be available).
The problem is that BMW, due to environmental regulation, can't keep paint in stock.

Boxerpunk, how did you manage to claim the warranty? I take it that your bike is older that one year. Or is there a warranty clause on paint that is valid over 1 year? What dealer did you go to?

I bought my bike from Harry Meyer, Badhoevedorp as a "Homeselection occasion" (oftewel Huisselectie occasion), so it came with an additional two-year full factory warranty. (Already had my ABS-pump replaced under warranty)

Thanks Boxerpunk. My bike is being serviced annually by Harry Meijer as well. But I bought it second hand and didn't pay attention at that time (Oct 2005). Anyways, I'll ask for a quote to have it fixed...

I did the forks on my K with Satin Hammerite which gave a really good finish and lasted. Havn't done the rock yet but they are beginning to go

Yeh I'm thinking about a satin finish also; Did you do the fork brace too, at the same time?
