Some of you know Jerry. Jerry is a member of our club here in Georgia and lives up near Hiawassee, close to the NC state line. Jerry also has been a visitor to this site on occasion and actually rode with me and Vann and Cyclerob and someone else I don't remember just now, when we went up to the Dragon last year. That was my first exposure to the dreaded "Pizza Shift" Harley on that trip. Remember? Remember?
Anyhoo, Jerry was doing a ride back up to that area some time back, and was sitting at a light minding his own business, watching a police officer issue a ticket over by the side of the road in Robbinsville. The ticket was being issued to a young biker I believe. It was on a curve! Some of you may know the exact curve. I couldn't picture it myself.
Jerry was sitting there, as I said before, when around the curve comes another sport bike rider flying way too fast. Somehow he manages to hit the police car, bounce off and hit Jerry on his beautiful red Roadster sitting there watching as it unfolded. Jerry came away with minor scratches on his elbow, but the Roadster was toast.
Consequently Jerry has a few maintenance parts in his garage that are no longer of use to him.
Sparky and I rode up there yesterday to buy some of those parts and eat lunch at a BBQ joint in Blairsville.
Here's the tale. Please take the time to post a comment and I'll include you in my will.
I apologize for the lack of photos. I tend to forget to take pictures.

Man, what a bummer for Jerry.
But I am still laughing, and laughing hard. I can't stop the image of that doofus crashing into a parked cruiser. Then, of course the explanation...man oh man.
Of course, being the humanist that I am, I hope he was not hurt... so he can enjoy the full extent of the humilitation he deserves.
Humiliation is purely exquisite. Best tool for learning, period.

I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray...
He already bought a used yellow R1150GS. I was sooo inept at photo documentation of this ride. I should have taken a picture of Jerry with his new GS last Staurday. I'll do better. I promise.
That kid is in deep doo-doo. No insurance. Hitting a cop car. Totaling another bike. Plus he was pretty beat up after the crash.
But Jerry said he was really a pretty nice kid.

no insurance?
No, I have to say his "niceness" is total con-job. Irresponsibility of that sort is inexcusable. He was a totally self-absorbed moron.
Now he is just a sore, sorry sack.

I remember!
Wow, I try to avoid Deal's Gap since the squids and racers and hogs are always trying to take you out but now even Robbinsville is unsafe!
Too bad no one got film! Hitting a cop car and taking out a fellow rider would have been a You Tube hit! Glad he wasn't hurt!
