I have an opportunity to look at and possibly purchase a 2004 (of course) R1150R EDITION 80. Supposedly, only 200 were sold in the USA
The bike has 14k on it.
What should I look for and what should I pay?
EDITION 80

They are a Rockster, which is an R1150r for the most part (suspension/minor option differences), but with a unique color scheme. They may have some 'collectability' in years to come, but others I know with them ride them like they are any other bike.
BTW, I love the colors.

For reference, in October of last year, I bought a 2004 R1150R w/ ABS, luggage rack, case rails, and some other minor options, less than 700 miles, and a 3 year warranty, from NYC BMW for around $8500.

2003 of the Anniversary Edition were produced. Only 200 were imported to the US. Each is numbered. The collectiblitiy thing kind of became a tempest in a teapot, because it is still a Rockster, just a different paint scheme.
Mine came with a cool LE video and a certificate. I've got #196.
Mine's got 28K miles on it and I use it as my daily commuter.
