I need a 2002 R1150R Small Block Engine

I need a small block engine. Anyone know where I can find a used engine? I've tried craigslist but everyone is selling a bike not the part I need....I'd rather fix it instead of part out my bike like everyone is suggesting to me. I just can't bear the thought of it. I live in Walnut Creek, Northern California. I'm heart broken that this has happened since I've only had the bike for 5 months and I'm a new rider. I have no direction other than the dealership charging more than what I paid for the bike itself.

That sucks. What happened? How bad is the damage?

Did you try http://www.BeemerBoneyard.com?

This is his original thread... http://r1150r.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16946

cdude: Do you have a garage? How handy are you? My hubby is the rider who had the same thing happen to his R1100RS (the pics/thread I linked to). He pulled apart the bike and did the fixes himself. It took 3-4 months, but the bike is back together and he's looking forward to riding in a Long Distance rally next month on it.

If you answered yes to my questions, you could possibly get away with replacing the "toasted" engine components rather than the whole engine. But you'd need to pull it apart and see just what and how much is damaged.

+1 on Beemer Boneyard. I've used them for numerous parts. Another possibility is eBay - just searching for BMW engine parts I came up with this. And if you have questions, please ask - I'm lionlady's other half, and that red bike in the thread she linked to is mine. I've got about 6000 miles on it since the rebuild, and the oil looked normal at the recent change.
