Re: Throttle cable adjustment.
CycleRob - I'm curious - you mentioned that there was a 2" difference on the manometer even after syncing with the TwinMax. Do you have a sense of what this means in terms of sensitivity measured in PSI or kPA differences? Iow, is it possible to equate a linear measurement on the manometer to a...

Re: Farkle Regrets & Remorse
TW - that counts - don't put stuff where you can either run over it or have it fall off your truck as your drive off. BTW, I have a BMW R1150R spare shield if you are looking for one.... will let it go really really cheap. Oh, this was another regret for me - this shield buffeted me.

I'm waiting for the wasser R1200R - you know it's coming..... that's my next bike.
In the meantime, I'll put miles on the 1150R.... which I still love.

Farkle Regrets & Remorse
It's always great to talk about all the great stuff we get for our bikes but it seems there's no thread on mods/farkles that didn't fare so well. Figured that by sharing our mistakes with other R1150R riders, we'd be able to reduce others' remorse. Here's mine: I purchased the Aerostich PDM60 thinki...

There's been some great postings as to what should be done with a newly acquired used R1150R - there's the usual suspicious parts that need replacement - fuel disconnects - if you can't find 'em, ping me.

Re: Yet another tire thread
Good hijack. Learn how to take off and re-install your own wheels. Better to do this for the first time in the comfort of your own shop/garage than on the road. If you ride a lot, you know that day will come. Better yet, use tools that you carry on your bike to the job. Next - go to bikebandit, http...

Re: Please help a new guy... r1150r or r1200r
Don't buy it necessarily when you replace the quick disconnects - but inspect the fuel lines when you replace the disconnects looking for radial splitting of the lines. If you order the fuel line, get it from beemerboneyard - they actually sell an entire kit. I replaced ALL of the fuel lines (inside...

Don't spend the $100 on the CDs. Become a lifer on this forum is a better investment. It'll more than pay off. I need to double down... also when you replace those cheap plastic fuel disconnects, keep these originals as it will help you siphon gas out of the tank when you need to take the tank to re...

SteveJJ - it's not the servo you need to worry about - it's the slave cylinder that's mounted just in front of the rear wheel. i'm not sure if the newer ones are any better but I know I have a new one and new clutch plates. new cylinder is about 350 bucks. new clutch and cylinder is about 1400 with ...

Re: Best replacement pads for R1150R ABS?
So I was going to do my front brakes but observed that the existing pads appear okay! I'm at almost 30K miles but after removing one set of pads, I noticed that they are a tad thicker than the FA294HH pads that I was going to install. The other caliber had the same measurements. So I left the origin...

Re: Wish me good luck
Toaster - you need to get these vent lines correct otherwise you will TRASH your charcoal cannister and possibly get charcoal bits into your fuel injector. How do I know? Because I bought my R1150R and the dealer who did the work for the original owner reversed these lines. Carefully going over the ...

Re: Please help a new guy... r1150r or r1200r
Great choice. I too bought a 2003 R1150R with < 1500 miles on it 2 years ago. I now have almost 30,000 miles on it and loved every mile of it. I've ridden the R1200R and it's wonderful but there's something visceral about the R1150R. Now there are going to be a lot of things that you'll want to do a...

Re: Best replacement pads for R1150R ABS?
Just did my rear brakes with EBC FA363 Organic. Like DuckDave, I really like the new feel but it's still early - about 60 miles into it. Let's see how the wear goes but I did follow IBMWR's recommendation to anti-seize lube the pin. Also, many thanks to CycleRob for advice on cleaning the pistons. I...
