Re: Pannier inner bags - anyone got them and are they good?

Thanks for the info people,

I have sent an email to Bob's BMW and Cee baileys to see if they'll ship to the land down under.

BMW bags are $189.00 AUS Each and i'm just not able to justify the difference in cost.

Pannier inner bags - anyone got them and are they good?

Noticed on the BMW website that they make bags for the inside of the panniers. I know i mate who's got them on his FJR1300, are they good? do you recommend them? - maybe you have a better idea, share your thoughts.

Re: Woke up today and deceided to buy a R1200R

22nd May 2010 Rode the MT-01 for the last time yesterday to pick up the new toy. Half way there and I had to stop for half an hour to warm up again. I forgot just how cold the chill factor can be. It was a good ride, But I have a confidence issue with this bike that i can't pinpoint and i noticed it...

Re: Woke up today and deceided to buy a R1200R

21st May 2010. Today's the big day - off on the adventure to pick up the new toy! it's a 420km round trip, so it should give me a great idea what the bike can do on the way home. The forcast is sunny, not hot and perfect weather. mainly straight roads, but i'm sure i can find some twisties to try ou...

Re: Woke up today and deceided to buy a R1200R

19th May 2010. Yesterday I had a call from my local BMW dealer. They told me they had just the bike for me. Somehow, and i have no idea how, I knew they might be right. So i asked what they had. they had a 2006 R1200RT SE with 26,000 klm's one fussy owner with full service history, top box , fully o...

Re: Woke up today and deceided to buy a R1200R

Thanks for the heads up, interestingly, i looked at them all today also. and came up with the same information as you did. I test rode that one at Jeffery Honda, it's the one i spoke about earlier. It's a joke, it's had three owners, has no BMW service history, and an unknown brand oil filter on it ...

Re: Woke up today and deceided to buy a R1200R

16th May 2010 ok, today was a hard day. none of the bikes on Bikesales.com.au are moving, and not many of them are local to my area, so haven't found anything new to look at. It's hard wanting one and not being able to have it. The dealers out of my area don't want to trade, so it doesn't give me ma...

Re: R1200R Being Discontinued

Just a quick update - I have it on good authority (some people know why I say it that way..) that the R1200R will be available in a 2011 model. One might expect to see the new OHC engine on it. And that's all I can say about that. ohh.....that might be worth waiting for.....problem is i'm not patie...

Re: Woke up today and deceided to buy a R1200R

12th May 2010 Yesterday I rode my first R1200R. Had a small ride on it through the Dandenongs in Melbourne. later that afternoon, i got to try it out in city traffic. I didn't buy the bike, it's a long story but the dealer and i didn't see eye to eye price wise, and the condition of the bike was not...

Re: Woke up today and deceided to buy a R1200R

6th May update: Someone posted a post "do you ever feel like you need a GS?". Honestly, that post couldn't have come at a better time, cause i'd been keeping myself awake at night trying to decide if i wanted a GS or a R. For a while there it was really getting to me, looking at all the di...

Re: Do you ever feel like you need a GS?

I sure do, right now i'm fighting the demons within wondering which bike will suit me best. At 6'4 and a 36" inseam, logic tells me to go the GS - but I don't like the 08 onwards only 05-07, and I worry about high milage old ones. And the cliff hanger??? The R ticks all the boxes in reality for...

Woke up today and deceided to buy a R1200R

Yep, that's right, Woke up and thought - time for a new bike i'm going to buy a R1200R. Now i haven't ridden one, and don't think i'll need to (but i will) I love the look and have had a R1150RT and think it's just the way to go. I like naked bikes better, so it seems the obvious choice. I don't wan...

I used to own a R1150RT and moved away and now it's time for me to buy another and have been looking at the R1200r. Without a dealer nearby, (over 2 hours away) I was wondering if someone with a r1200r would be able to make a short video of a run through the display screen on the bike showing the tr...

Thanks for the tips DJ - I have only ordered the lenses, I thought I could get globes at Autobarn, so I'm glad I waited.

I'll checkout the rest when they arrive.

Should be a good look - only wish they did a light for the rear of the RT as well, still, I never look at it anyway.....

Cheers,

Phil

R1150RT Clear Indicator lenses

Last night whilst looking for a larger screen for my RT I stumbled across both clear and smoked indicator lens for the front of the RT. Anyone have these and how hard were they to fit? - are you happy with the mod? I really like the look with these new lenses - a low cost option to add a nice cosmet...
