Re: Blind rivet nuts located on the tank
If you go to realoem.com and input your vin you will find all of the part numbers for your bike. I have used this for a number of years for both my Rockster as well as my BMW E46 car. The parts you are looking for are under the fuel system heading.

I have used the Motorrad bag for the last 5-6 years. It fits perfectly and has stood the test of time.

Re: Need a new Ignition coil stick. Do you know a cheap plac
I ordered a pair of coils on sale for $199. form Euromoto. Great deal compared to Canadian dealer prices. I think if one coil is on it's way out it is probably better to replace the pair.

Re: Wire sleeve repair
I really like 3M Scotch 23 self amalgamating tape. It is expensive however it makes a waterproof seal. I first used it on offshore sailboats and have since used it to seal wire repairs on heavy equipment when it wasn't possible to use heat shrink. Unlike regular electrical tape it does not absorb wa...

Re: Help request - Rockster front axle measurement
Mine measures 10.0 mm. There is no brake drag, if I give the wheel a hard spin it will rotate at least 4 full revolutions. All of the fasteners are torqued to factory specs. Prior to changing my brake pads the left side used to hang up and the wheel would not rotate freely.

Re: Bad Cylinder Head? Bad Casting?
My left side cover did the same thing complete with the bubble and the powdery stuff inside. When I had mine powder coated the guy who did the work reckoned that a combination of a rough casting as well as bad prep caused the failure. It seems the casting was rough and it looks like they tried to us...

Re: General Red Warning Light Came On... Now No Brakes!
I had a very similar problem and it turned out that the switch at the front brake lever was the culprit. Remove the cover on the bottom of the right side grip, take out the screw that holds the micro switch and see if the servo comes on when you open and close the switch by hand, if it does then the...

Re: Fork and Rocker cover paint issue
The rocker cover paint on my 03 Rock was beginning to bubble off so I had them powder coated Black, and now she's truly trick, fast and sexy lookin ! The guy who did the work could not belive how thick the paint was and how rough the magnesium castings were. They almost looked like they were dipped ...

Re: Removing stuck plug-coil-caps
I have also used the two screwdriver method, removing the lead from the coil makes it a little easier. I have also found that the coil tends to get stuck to the plug if it is not removed now and againg. I usually slide them off when I do amn oil change to prevent sticking.

Re: Stranded in Bandera
When the slave cylinder went on my Rockster there was no warning either. The fluid level was right were it always was although after I opened the master ,while trying to figure out what was going on I found a lot of very fine metal filings suspended in the fluid. If I pumped the lever a few times I ...

Re: WUNDERLICH SCREEN
I have a Trimm on my Rock. The fit and finish is very good, with lots of adjustment. I am also 6' and I am not sure it is possible to get rid of all the wind blast however it does away with most of it. I did not have a screen prior to this one and the thing I like the most about it was the way it ma...

Re: i'm leaking fuel, please help :(
My Rockster did the same thing. After the engine warmed up a bit the leak would stop. It turned out to be a loose clamp,in the end I opted to change the plastic QD's as well as the hoses and clamps. Cheap fire insurance and peace of mind.

Re: Leaking Oil Filler Cap
Thanks for the replies. I have replaced #'s 7-8 on the drawing and that has slowed the leak to a slow trickle. The aftermarket cap setup that I have been scoping out is the same one MattPie used and it looks the same as the ones in Mr & Mrs Sweatmarks bikes. There are other caps on the market bu...

Leaking Oil Filler Cap
My oil filler cap has developed an annoying leak that was not cured by replacing the o ring with the genuine approved item from the genuine approved dealership. I seem to remeber reading about a cure someplace but I can't seem to find it again. I have also seen a couple of different styles of afterm...

Re: Rockster clock
You will need to use a pen or some other some other object with a point to press the buttons. On my Rock it is quite hard to do and it requires quite a firm push. You will hear an audible click evey time the button is pushed and the hours or seconds will change.

I think iABS surgery will need to be performed in the future and would like a list of BMW part numbers required to convert to the more reliable brakes. Have you had any luck solving the speedo issue??

Re: ABS problem old but new for me
I have just been through pretty much the same thing and I think it turned out to be the front brake switch. The zip ties were too tight and this coupled with the way the wires are routed beside the steering head caused the front brake switch connector to loosen enough to cause an intermittent open s...
