Re: BMW R1200R vs Yamaha FJR 1300
engine, at least in the earlier model, was giving away lots of heat to the driver.....not good at slow speed
but very fast .....used it can be found at bargain price.....too heavy for my taste though .....(but again, I have a R1200R.....not a K1200GT lol)

Re: Clear view mirror???
Try this, Get a few stick on weights like are used to balance wheels, and stick them on the back side of the mirror, it might take 2 or 3. BMW's plastic mirrors are very light, sometimes alittle weight will change the frequency at whitch they viberate, it helps to clear the image. I used this metho...

Re: Clear view mirror???
Doing a search on "bar end mirror" will show a thread where, surprise, bar end mirrors clear up the blur. well, I do have the stock bar ends......it should be enough......but thanks anyway ;-) I've miscommunicated: Not bar ends, but mirrors that attach to the end of the bars! No long stal...

Re: I did it!
I just paid 149 for the 08 GS handguards from Chicago BMW, I waited 2 months for them and they had to be modified a little but look and work great! Hi, can you please post pictures? A friend of mine would like to install the the 08 GS handguards, but, before to do so, he would like to have a look t...

Re: R1200R Handguards - availability?
I was able to put the new 08 GS handguards on my 08 R12R. They are workable but you need to switch the left and right mounting brackets. The angle does not work out correctly unless you do that. Also, shimming material would be helpful for the mount to the inside portion of the handlebars. I used t...

hand guard from R1150GS?
there is a huge tread on the fit of the old style R1200GS hand guards for the R1200R,
but would the R1150GS hand guards fit on the R1200R?
if the answer is obvious, please forgive me
TIA

Re: too tall... for mini me
I'm 5'6" and I've just bought the R1200R with standard seat...I'm fine
with the lower seat it is lower so I'm pretty sure that you don't need to lower the suspension....
