Re: Soar shoulders
Ride like crazy! Lean forward more and get off your a**. Just funnin with you. This is a different bike. The more you get into the ride by leaning forward more and aggressively leaning into the curves, your shoulder ache and pains will disappear. You can also get risers to bring the handlebars up an...

Re: Looking for RT to R owners
Went from the RT to R and never looked back. The R is less top heavy. The R is more nimble. I now do more short trips of 200 miles or so instead of touring so the R is perfect for me. I throw on a Touratech Tri-Bag system for a full tour or just the round Touratech bag for everyday stuff. You get ai...

Re: Rear Hugger for my R12R
About a year ago I purchased the same Nippy Hugger and unfortunately it came with a tear in the fibreglass at one of the corners of the Hugger. Since it was a small tear and because of the distance and hassle of sending it back, I went ahead and put it on and the tear is not noticeable. This product...

Re: R1200R Long Distance Impressions
Whatever you do, don't believe anyone who tells you his seat is the best! I've had more seats made for me based on initial reports and none of them worked for me (except the Rick Mayer). The key is to go to the seat maker and determine if he's going to be able to make the seat you need. I don't know...

Re: dangerous test ride
Come on, Tom. After how many tens of thousands of sales of BMW motorcycles do we have a small percentage of final drive failures? That's a straw dog. If you like the Ducati, great! I don't think anyone on this forum cares if someone falls in love with another motorcycle. I own a few different brands...

Re: If you had to get rid of your R1200R
I had an 06 1200 RT and liked it but didn't love it. The gadgets and windshield were great but the bike felt top heavy once I'd ridden the 1200 R and certainly the extra weight always made me unsure about where I planted it and me at a stop. So, the RT would not be my choice. Other than that, I don'...

This is the first bike in years where I've said, yeh, I'd buy this! I love the muscle and the naked look but the look just says, I'm fun to ride.
I want it!

Re: MotoPort Kevlar Products
I've had the same pants you ordered for 4 years and really like them. They are a nice fit and the liner takes care of cool days. I found with the liner on they are a bit bunchy (if that's a word) in the back where the liner zips into the pants, but it's not enough of a problem to worry about. I feel...

Ditto for me. Fuel strip always is full and maximum miles to go is also showing. Never changes. Warranty expires in July so it's off for a 6,000 and a new fuel strip job.

Re: OT - Hearing Protection - this is great
I've had these plugs for about 3 months now and find them very comfortable and do an admirable job of reducing the wind noise associated with low windscreen and high road noise. Are they the best I've had. Maybe. I've had others that I thought were as good. I'm an experimenter and my feeling is that...

I use the Tourmaster bag which can also be purchased with saddlebags and are zippered together as one unit. Very nice and handy. Here's the site:

Stef, Congratulations and welcome to the "Club". I too had a cruiser, a Vulcan 1500 about 10 years ago and liked it until I took an extended tour for several days and when I got home immediately went to bed. The sport tourer you're now on will become part of you, not just a machine you sit...

Re: R1200R Sound track
Here's a link to the MIIV Sport exhaust which is supposed to fit a 1200 R. It's in a building so the sound reverberates a little differently but it kinda sounds the same. This is the only dealer in U.S.A. it seems, http://www.pjsparts.com/ Here's the sound site, http://www.mivv.it/en/prodotti_video_...

On another forum there was some pretty strong feelings the exhaust was an MIVV and maybe without baffles.

Re: R1200R Sound track
I've listened to a couple of the Remus cans and the Akrapovic and they don't sound like the one on YouTube and someone was right when they said it sounded like a volkswagen but it really has a good sound. I hope someone will recognize it.

Ordered today. They seem to be constructed in a similar design I have now, but I'm willing to try it out for the price. I'll report after some testing.
