Re: ergonomics and my aching hand
i did adjust the handlebars up more and the levers were raised up a bit as well. this made no difference. i am thinking that the grip should have more insulation and be thinker and straight versus tapered so there is even pressure on the hand and less vibration. and i wonder if the clutch itself ide...

ergonomics and my aching hand
okay, so tell me if any of you out there are finding that because of the handle grip/clutch/and signals on the left that one or all of these things are giving you an aching hand, numbness and tightness in the forearm. i am thinking this problem could be sourced to the grip width, shap and clutch bei...

Re: dead battery
thanks for all your feedback.
unfortunately the mountain bike is my only bike that i think can be on the road right now..while i wait for the icy conditions to clear up..and a warmer day... then i will have the beemer towed.

Re: dead battery
my only option is to try to boost the battery versus use a tender because i dont have access to an outlet..even creatively and cant have a long enough extension cord running from my apt to the bike. so..has to be boosted but if i need to take the tank off to do it..fiddly to get on and then ride rig...

Re: oily issues

Re: leak question
okay i had another look at the back tire rim. what i can see is that when the bike has been parked it has dripped onto the rim from the seal on the "boot" and it is in several places on the rim from stopping several times yesterday, on the edge and bottom of the boot as well. i am going to...

leak question
I went over the boarder to the US for a great ride this weekend. and then on the i5 hwy got a flat! ugh. so while i was looking at my flat back tire and waiting for a tow..noticed oily substance on the rim (uh oh). so it looks like something is leaking from side of a "rubber flexible boot"...

i have a 2002 r1150r and am trying to keep on top of checking the oil. the dealer says it must be on centre stand and flat ground. okay okay i dont like having to put it on centre stand (fear of it falling the other way). i do know the technique and will do this if i have to. i've also tried a mirro...

Re: simply starting up
okay here is what i am doing that might be wrong. i am starting the bike with the choke lever up, waiting 30 secs to 60 seconds and the pushing it down ..not riding with it up. so then it stalls. so it sounds like i just start riding with it up. and then just watch the rmps then to know when to push...
