Re: I sold my R1150R,,,Bugger!

The only thing I miss about my R1150R is the instrument panel. I liked how it looked and it was made of metal.

Re: Hugger

The finish on the Nippy Normans hugger is not the best. There have been a few discussions about this on this board that contain some good info. Search for "nippy normans". For some reason, the full address doesn't show in my address bar when I use this site so I can't post a link.

Tail light turned on by itself

I was in my garage checking out the bikes and uncovered then covered my R. When I did this, the tail light came on. I had the BMW charger plugged in the accessory receptacle. I turned all of the switches on then off but the light remained on. Finally, I grabbed the key, turned the ignition on then o...

Re: Help! Stranded in MN

I can't believe this is my first and probably only post to the discussion forums. I am the seller in this story and I just found out what was wrong with the bike. Nothing, besides the owner. I have mice in my garage so after I ride, I would put an exhaust plug in after the bike cooled down and a so...

Re: Help! Stranded in MN

Check all of the harness connections around the engine. One of mine came loose and caused a similar problem.

Re: Have you done a case rekey on a Roadster?

I did it on my cases but the previous owner had already removed the cylinders. I believe the cylinders can only be removed with the key. I found the instructions online so I will try to find where they are posted.

Re: BMW did make airplane engines

True, That is where the BMW roundel came from { spinning propeller} engines for Luftwaffe. The origin of the roundel is in dispute. A BMW representative on the show "Twisted Throttle" which aired on the Discovery HD channel a few years ago stated that the blue and white on the roundel rep...

Headlight shimmering?

I took a ride out to West Virginia today and I was following a friend. When we stopped, he asked me if I had a headlight modulator. I don't have one so I looked to see if my headlight was loose. My friend said that it was annoying because it looks like I am flashing him. Does anyone else have this p...

Re: Shorai Power Lithium Batteries

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but was wondering how is the battery holding up so far? thanks Mine is holding up fine although I haven't had it long enough to really evaluate it. I still don't recommend it because the cost outweighs the weight savings. Shorai is upgrading the terminal design that I...

I liked the speedometer on my old R1150R better than on my R1200R. It just looked cooler.

I've heard good reviews using this visual alert device http://www.marcparnes.com/Visual_Alert.htm coupled with a Valentine 1. They say it's hard not to see the alert because it really gets your attention without the need for earphones.

Re: problem with starting

I have had instances in which I would press the start button but for some reason it would not immediately start. It would crank for a few seconds but not start. After I released the button following the failed start attempt, I would immediately try to start the bike again. This time nothing would ha...
