Yup-I spoke with the head BMW tech at the dealership the other day and he said, "I am ordering you all new front brake parts because the clanking sound is not acceptable." He assures me they are safe to use right now...just noisy.

It sounds as if the front of my R1200R is about to fall apart! Does anyone else get metal on metal 'clanking' sounds from their front brake rotors? I know they are supposed to float, but mine seem to really float and make a rather embarrassing 'clanking' sound whenever I hit small bumps in the road....
