Re: HID for the Rockster...

Where the heck do you hide the ballasts and stuff? Also, wow, nice paint. Did you just strip off the decals and spraypaint? Or what? Tell me more :D It looks wonderful... http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/pieter_42/Xenon002.jpg [/quote] Thank you. The ballast/ignitor is a combined unit. I was ab...

You will have to make a few minor mods, but no big deal. FYI if you have a combined ballast/ignitor, it will fit nicely in between the instrument cluster and the headlamp housing. I made a special bracket from sheet alloy (thin) for extra secure mounting. Spray painted everything matte black, and no...

I don't think it would work using HID for the main beam. HID reaches full brightness relatively slowly, so 'flashing' would be out. There would also be what I think would be a very unacceptable delay in moving to main beam. I'm presently looking at converting the dip to HID. Does anybody know if th...

Re: HID for the Rockster...

Hi guys, I'm at work, and dont have my manual with me. I'm trying to order an HID kit for the Rockster. The Low beam bulb is H4, right? Also, did a search and got nothing (surprise). Has anyone done an HID conversion on their Rockster? I'm really tired of the no-light, headlight..when riding at nig...

There are many different shades of matte black. I spraypainted my entire bike matte black, after removing the decalls. What worked for me: I took off a matte black piece and paid the local bodyshop a visit. They were able to fill a rattlecan with matte black that matched the original colour perfectl...

I have converted my headlamp to genuine HID (xenon) and in the process replaced the small bulb by a LED. Bright and white, matches the HID perfectly !

Saw the real thing yesterday in Milan. It is a STUNNING bike, albeit still a prototype. I am a Ducati fan, as a matter of fact I own a tricked out Monster apart from the Rockster. Will post pics later.

Welcome buddy!

May I suggest that you try the BMW Sportintegral full face helmet. I have one (matte black) and love it. It is comfortable and, more important to me, very very quiet.

I spent about 25 $ on cans to obtain the above result. Only had the wheels powdercoated, because IMHO this is more rigid compared to normal paint, especially when the tyres need changing. I did use a primer on the plastic parts first and used about 6 (thin) layers.

That was easy: I used a rattle-can and spraypainted the header and the cat.

Mine's got a cut rear fender. all coloured parts are now matte black, including handle bars, valve covers, exhaust headers, triple clamp, pillion cover, wheels etc.etc., no muffler- just the cat, handlebar risers, HID headlamp conversion and some other minor mods I forgot.
