If ridden like that without fenders, one bump and the tyre would sand-paper my bottom in no time.

Magnificent craftsmanship though on the bike!!! Bravo!

Four on the clutch and Two on the brake. The 2 fingers on the brake habit developed while riding my old bike...it would die at intersections without throttle input.

Which bike

did Keanu Reeves ride in Chain Reaction. Caught a clip of that movie flipping channels yesterday. It seemed like a Kawasaki KZ series....like my old bike.

Any clues?

I wonder if a dash of SeaFoam to the engine oil just before the oil change helps. I added a bit to my old KZ440 when I first bought it, ran it around the block for 10 minutes and then did the oil change. I couldn't believe the muck that came out when I drained out the old oil. A couple of oil change...

Good to hear that you're recovering, Bones!

I guess the doctor is in. :D Sorry couldn't resist.

Btw, the nick...."Bones"....is that from Star Trek TOS or related to orthopedic surgery? Just curious.

Saw a silver R1150R on W. Grandview Ave, Howell, MI today at around 4:00 PM. Was this someone from the board? :)

I bought mine in June 2005 at around the same price with 1300 miles on the clock. It had City cases and a Staintune pipe and was in pristine condition. That number you have, sounds fair.

Do check the latest MCN issue for pricing information . It has "suggested" prices for used bikes.

Dallara, I've got the screen sitting in my garage at the moment. I suppose it will get mounted sometime this winter and deal with the pain then. Better the screen than being beaten about by the wind on long rides. Triple digit speeds, eh? I guess that radar detector of yours doesn't give false posit...

Re: Shopping advice for the petty

Try the ibmwr.org marketplace.

http://www.ibmwr.org/market/adlist.php?cat=oas or check around the rest of the site....failing that....I would try ebay.

Re: Looking for input about DC area

Mike, Have you checked out the BMWBMW club website at http://www.bmwbmw.org/forum? That's the forum where the BMW riders of Baltimore, Maryland & Washington congregate. From the activity on that forum, I would think they have quite a few riders who commute in the DC area. They might be able to p...
