head pipes

Unless you want to spend more time cleaning than riding I’d suggest ignoring the problem or having some type of ceramic / metallic coating applied to the head pipes. That’s what I’ve done to mine two years ago & they still look fine! A little bit darker in the curve of the h...

Stock exhaust on these is VERY quiet! Before I put on the Two Brothers pipe I could hear more valve noise than exhaust noise! I also wear ear plugs & like to be able to hear what the motor is doing to some degree otherwise I loose my perception of speed! Very easy to look down on this bike &...

I have a two brothers pipe/w cat eliminator and I think it sounds kick-ass! The pipe was new & the bike had about 1K on it when I put it on and after 7k I still think it sounds great! Just the right amount of ‘throat’ for my taste. The only other after-market pipe I’ve heard ...

Got mine on EBay last winter for $450.00 with grab/mount bars & luggage bridge!
You just have to be paitent (it also helps to do it in the off-season).
I had one pretty good scuff on the left lid so I put some reflective material over that spot on 'both' lids. Problem solved!

I guess I should stop bitching about insurance rates…. I live in one of the highest rated areas in Iowa and still only pay $189.00 a year for full/w $500.00 deduct. And $45.00 a month for liability for 3 cars! (Farmers ins.) My ’91 vmax used to cost the same +-5.00 to insure as my â€...

fuel pump

Hi, I fairly new to this site & I've only had my bike about a year. Being new & all I haven't worked on it as much as some others I've had but I have worked on fuel injected cars quite a bit so I believe some of that will carry over. Anyway I don't believe you're going to find that water in ...

seat material

I believe the carbon FX material is supposed to be pretty close (according to some anyway) to the factory pattern.

Ceramics would be the way to go, if anyone makes them for this bike I’d like to know. Their supposed to be the ‘bomb’ in all areas. Cooling, wear, dust, etc.

Homogenized, bland, mundane! Those are the words that come to mind when I look at the ‘new’ R-bikes (except the GS its cool). I can only pray that they stay away form this trend when it’s the new R1200R’s turn to go into the styling blender! Good thing mines only a year ol...

Got mine off EBay through partmonster, front & back, griptex materal,$20 extra for the red piping, I think it set me back a total of $550 shipped. not bad considering all the ones I saw for sale used went for well over $400. Don't be in a hurry though, I think it took a month to get... but still...
